Several parts of Tiruchi and its surrounding areas received heavy rain on Tuesday evening.
The rain lasting more than an hour left some of the arterial roads inundated, leaving several motorists stranded across the city.
The rainfall brought some relief from the sultry weather that prevailed in the city over the past couple of days.
