Guru appears before Court

Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader and former MLA ‘Kaduvetti' J. Guru appeared before the Fast Track Court (FTC) here on Wednesday in connection with an attempt to murder case registered against him in 2008.

Along with Guru, the other accused in the case Kamaraj, Nagasundaram and Veerappan also appeared before the FTC Judge Sivakumar.

The case was registered on a complaint lodged by J.Gunasekaran, of Kaduvetti, at Meensurutti police station under various sections including 307 (attempt to murder).

In the complaint, Gunasekaran had charged Guru with assaulting him after he warned Guru that he would leave the PMK and join the AIADMK.

The hearing has been adjourned to November 2, police sources said.
