National Harmony Day (Sathbhavana diwas) was observed on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Friday.
M. Vijayakumar, District Collector, administered the harmony pledge to government employees and officials at the Collectorate.
G.S. Ramadasu, District Revenue Officer, administered the pledge to the employees and officials at the Collectorate. He also offered floral tributes to the portrait of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The Sadbhavna Divas here was marked by administering of oath for social unity by Collector C.Munianathan.
This year, the government has decided to dedicate a fortnight from August 20 to September 3, for observing social unity.
V.Rajendran, District Revenue Officer, Vishwanathan, Regional Manager, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation and S.Namagiri, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency were present.
District Collector (in-charge) C. Munirathinam administered the Harmony Day pledge to the employees of various departments at the Collectorate here on Friday to mark the Sadbhavana Divas.
Mr. Munirathinam and other officials also offered floral tributes to the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi.
