Good response to inter-school competition

The Spark’16 organised by the Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Rockcity here on Saturday and Sunday received good response from the Government schools.

A total of 38 Government High Schools and Government Higher Secondary Schools in different parts of the district participated in the inter-school competition held at Jamal Mohamed College. Contests were held on various disciplines such as drawing, dance, elocution, singing and quiz. More than 700 students including girls took part in them. Most of them were from rural areas. Of them, 120 students were selected for the finals held on Sunday. A.K. Khaja Nazeemudeen, secretary and Correspondent, Jamal Mohamed College, inaugurated the event. M. Ramachandran Babu and K. Sugumar, president and secretary of Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Rockcity, M.A. Maluk Mohamed-chairman-Spark’16 and R.V.S. Muralidhar, convener, Spartk’16 took part.
