Educational institutions must continuously strive to raise their capabilities in the current scenario, G. Srinivas, Joint Secretary & Head, University Grants Commission, Southern Eastern Regional Office, Hyderabad said on Saturday.
“Good institutions are our national assets and they are made up of good teachers,” Dr. Srinivas said while speaking at the Graduation Day (Shift – I) at the Bishop Heber College in the city.
Exhorting students to plan their career and decide their life, he called upon them to excel in any area they chose. Every academic discipline has its own importance, he pointed out.
Instead of reshaping themselves to a job they get hold of, young graduates should define themselves and work towards a career they had planned or create a job for themselves, Mr. Srinivas said.
Truth and non-violence should be the guiding force of the students and young graduates in their life, he said. He presented degree certificates to the graduates and post graduates on the occasion. A total number of 769 graduates and post graduates of Shift – I received degrees on the occasion. The Bishop and Chairman, College General Body Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Paul Vasanthakumar, Principal M. Marcus Diepen Boominathan, Heads of various Departments and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.
