An LPG tanker lorry rammed the compound wall of the Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion here on Wednesday disrupting road traffic for a few hours.

The truck was on its way to Madurai from Chennai. The front portion of the tanker was damaged in the accident that occurred close to the Viralimalai bridge. Vehicles going towards Mannarpuram from Viralimalai bridge were diverted near Aristo roundabout for about three hours. Barricades were put up near the Viralimalai bridge and vehicles coming from Aristo roundabout side were diverted via Bharathiar Road. The lorry was removed from the spot around 1 p.m.
