The District Employment Office in association with the District Differently Abled Welfare Office has brought out a compact disc containing a question bank of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s Group IV examinations for the benefit of differently abled candidates appearing for the examinations.

About 650 differently welfare abled persons, out of the 2000 registered with the District Employment Office, are appearing for the Group IV examinations.

The TNPSC is to conduct the examination for the recruitment of 4,963 vacancies including 2,172 junior assistants, 1,683 typists and 331 shorthand steno typists, an official release pointed out.

The District Employment Office has held a counselling session to motivate differently abled persons to appear for the examinations.

In an attempt to help differently abled candidates fare well in the examinations, the Employment Office was conducting free coaching classes at its self-study circle and also at the panchayat union level.

Based on the advice of the Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, the Employment Office and the District Differently Abled Welfare Office has compiled TNPSC question papers of the last 10 years to bring out a compact disc along with answers for the same.

The question bank comprises about 2,500 TNPSC questions apart from 8,500 questions from various competitive examinations. The audio-CD, running for about 45 hours, is bilingual with the questions given in Tamil and English.

Collector Jayashree Muralidharan on Monday inaugurated the distribution of the CDs free of cost to differently abled persons at the Collector’s Office in the presence of K. Tharpagaraj, District Revenue Officer, C. Tamilselvi, Deputy Director of Employment, and N. Saminthan, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
