Forfest brings out the best in schoolchildren

“As teachers you will always stay young, because of your constant interaction with young people,” said V.B.Athreya, advisor, M.S.Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, at the valedictory function of Forfest 2013.

A total of 225 students from 32 schools in the city participated in the interschool meet held at Hotel Sangam on Wednesday.

The event was inaugurated by K.Balamurugan, Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchi. Enthusiastic children participated in dumb charades, wealth from waste, Tamil poem , Tamil speech, 3M, and Mr/Miss Forfest contests.

C.Vidya from St.James Matriculation Higher Secondary School bagged the Miss Forfest prize, while Sundaraparipooranan of Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidyalaya was Mr.Forfest. Both received a cash prize of Rs.2, 500 each.

The overall winner’s trophy was bagged by Montford School, while Campion Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School won the runner’s trophy.
