The annual concert of Orchard Schools was celebrated in the city recently. It is the fourth annual concert, titled “Feel India”.

Colourful display

The objective of the event was to reflect the rich and varied cultural heritage of India.

The show brought out the important features of different states such as monuments, dress code, dance forms, and cuisines.

The different classical forms of dances staged were Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyaatam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathak and Manipuri.

The folk dances that were depicted were Kummi, Kolaatam, Oyillaatam, Thapaatam, Ghomar, Dandhiya, Garba, Bhangra, Kashmiri and Goan dances.

The chief guest, Sethu Kumanan, managing trustee of Sethu Valliammal Group of Institutions, Chennai, insisted that students should be given education in a comfortable ambience such as that provided at Orchard Schools.

The founder and chairman of the school, S. Mani, and the chief executive officer, M. Arun presided over the function.

Silvie Samuel, principal, presented the annual report.
