Though rainfall has provided much needed respite in a number of places for tourists in Courtallam, the rainfall has come as a big dampener. The ‘Main Falls’ and ‘Five Falls’ in Courtallam witnessed flood on Sunday in the wake of heavy rainfall, prompting the authorities to prevent tourists from bathing in the falls..

The downpour that began on Saturday night continued for hours together. The sky remained overcast through out the day and the weather was cold.

However, the tourists were allowed to take bath in the Old Courtallam Falls and the Tiger Falls as flow of water was moderate there. The inflow of tourists to Courtallam was also less since the season had ended in August. Police personnel were deployed to prevent tourists from entering the waterfalls.
