A large number of devotees offered worship to Namperumal and witnessed the float festival on the occasion of Tiruppallioda thiruvizha on Saturday.

Namperumal was brought, along with Ubaya Nachiars at about 3 p.m. marking the commencement of the float festival.

The ‘theppam kandarulal’ was held for about two hours. Namperumal was later brought amidst religious fervour to the Maiya mandapam before being taken to the sanctum sanctorum. The float celebrations marks the eighth day schedule of the festival which concludes on Monday with ‘pantha kaatchi’.
