Fans of Kamal Haasan launch cleaning drive in city

In an effort to improve the surroundings neat and clean, the Tiruchi District Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam, in association with the Tiruchirappalli City Corporation, launched a clean Tiruchi movement on Sunday.

As per the move, the fans of Kamal Haasan, who is the brand ambassador of Swachch Bharath Mission, will work with the sanitary workers of the Corporation on Sundays to clean streets and roads.

The Corporation will provide machines and supporting materials.

On Sunday, a group of fans and sanitary workers cleaned Rajaram road in K.K. Nagar. M. Geetharani, Health Officer, Tiruchi Corporation, signalled the launch of the drive.

They worked for about 2 hours and collected garbage, plastic bags, tea bags and others strewn on the road.

A. Karthick and N. Sarathy, president and secretary of the Tiruchi District Kamalhasan Narpani Iyakkam were among those participated.
