Irked over the leakage of drinking water apparently from distribution mains along the Ponmalaipatti Main Road, the Makkal Sakthi Iyakkam on Thursday put up handbills in the locality criticising the civic body for its failure to repair the lines.
The organisation, in the handbills, claimed that water had been leaking near the Cauvery Nagar bus halt along the road since June 3 but no action has been taken so far by the Corporation. K.C.Neelamegam of Makkkal Sakthi Iyakkam said the water was running waste into a ditch and the matter has been reported twice to Corporation officials. The water was going waste continuously at a time when residents in the locality were getting water supply only on alternative days, he said.
When contacted, a senior Corporation official said the leak could be from a distribution line and assured to look into the matter.
