Exposure visit for 64 women panchayat presidents

A group of 64 women panchayat presidents from the eight districts of Tiruchi, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Pudukottai left from here on a four-day exposure visit to Coimbatore and Nilgris districts. Collector T. Soundiah flagged off their visit at the Collectorate campus on Monday.

The panchayat presidents will be shown the model panchayat at Odanthurai in Coimbatore district and will be taken to the horticulture research station at Nilgiris, solid waste management unit and also to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore. G. Bhanumathi, Assistant Project Officer, DRDA, Perambalur, is leading the group . R. Venkatachalam, Project Officer, DRDA, Tiruchi and other officials attended the function.
