Members of the Tamil Nadu Government Fair Price Shop Employees Association staged a demonstration demanding redress of grievances and implementation of pay revision, in front of the collectorate, here on Thursday.

The protestors sought regularisation of workers currently on contract. They also demanded regularisation of contract workers on completion of one year of service in fair price shops.

The members called for implementation of the revised pay terms as announced by the government.

They demanded appointment of a salesperson and an assistant at each fair price shop.

The association sought filling up of vacancies in fair price shops skimming off excess employees taken from cooperative societies on fulfilment of requirements.
