e-governance reaches Tiruverumbur taluk

Residents of the Tiruverumbur taluk need not visit government offices to get essential certificates from the Revenue Department with the introduction of e-governance project on Friday.

Citizens can now get community, income, nativity, first-generation graduate, and widow certificates from online service centres set up at eight Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, Collector Jayashree Muralidharan said after inaugurating the project at the Vazhavanthankottai Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society

The online centres would function at the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies at Vengur, Natarajapuram, Tiruverumbur, Koothaipar, Thuvakudi, Asoor, Navalpattu and Vazhavanthankottai.

Applications, along with supporting documents, can be submitted at the centres on payment of Rs. 50. The certificates would be issued at the centres were the applications were submitted. Applications can be submitted on all working days, with Saturday being half working days.

The e-governance project has already been introduced in Srirangam and Tiruchi West Taluk in the district.
