Sterilisation was the most popular method to limit the family size. Quality of services in terms of technical inputs, processes, interpersonal communication with clients played a major role in acceptance of any service. Poor quality of service would lead to underutilisation of service.
So, it was important to follow the standard procedures in family welfare procedures. There was a set of standards on quality assurance. Each and every stakeholder should follow the procedures so as to improve the quality of services.
Mr. Palanisamy said the medical field had become highly competitive and sensitive. The procedures of family welfare should be taken up with utmost care. Knowledge and experience would scale up the quality of service. Doctors and para medical staff members should know the latest trends and methods in family welfare services.
Mary Lilly, Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Government Medical College, Tiruchi, said though the quality of services had improved, there was need to improve the standard in various aspects including surgical procedures, equipment, clients’ satisfaction and others.
