The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) treasurer M.K. Stalin on Saturday alleged that the ruling AIADMK government had put on hold many developmental and welfare schemes launched by his party.

There were no achievements in the last three years of AIADMK rule, Mr. Stalin said while addressing an election meeting at Manachanallur falling under the Perambalur Parliamentary constituency.

Seeking support in favour of DMK Perambalur Parliamentary constituency candidate Seemanur Prabhu, Mr. Stalin appealed to the electorate to teach a lesson to the AIADMK in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The DMK always took up public cause and worked for the welfare of the people even when the party was out of power, Mr. Stalin said.

Listing out various developmental schemes launched by the DMK, Mr. Stalin alleged that the ruling AIADMK government had stalled them upon coming back to power in 2011.

No concrete scheme had been initiated by the AIADMK in the last three years, he said.

Mr. Stalin commenced his campaign from Lalapet in Karur district and addressed a series of election meetings at various places including Kulithalai, Musiri, Thathiengarpet and Lalgudi.
