DMDK partymen led by MLA S. Senthilkumar staged a demonstration at his Tiruverumbur constituency on Friday deploring 14 hours of daily power cut in the State.

Demonstrators displayed grinders and mixer grinders to indicate its unworthiness in the absence of power supply. They also held aloft kerosene lamps and candles to describe the difficulties faced by the public due to unannounced power cuts in night hours.

During the demonstration lasting for over an hour, speakers highlighted the difficulties faced by industries, spurt in anti-social activities due to power cuts in night hours, and the predicament of agriculturists in delta districts over the impact of power cut on irrigation.
