Leaders and cadres of Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam staged a demonstration in front of the Khadi Kraft building at Tiruchi Junction, condemning the alleged blacking out of the party’s news channel Captain News by the Government-run cable network Arasu Cable TV Corp.

Party’s city unit secretary Vijayarajan led the agitation that was addressed by Tiruverumbur MLA and district south unit secretary S. Senthilkumar, traders’ wing State deputy secretary K.M.G. Vijayakumar, and local functionaries.

Raised slogans

The speakers charged the government with flouting democratic norms while cadres raised slogans stating that the party’s growth cannot be stymied by blacking out its news channel.
