A group of differently abled persons staged a demonstration near the railway station here on Thursday to condemn the Karnataka government for its refusal to release Cauvery water, its defiance to implement Supreme Court order, and demanding that the State release two tmcft of water regularly. Swamimalai Sundara Vimala Nathan, district secretary, Cauvery Vivasayigal Padukappu Sangam, led the agitation. They also urged the Central government to nationalise rivers.

B.Marisamy, K.Venkatesan, and S.Selvam participated in the agitation.

The agitation was organised by Thanjavur district differently abled welfare association.
