The demise of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, the senior seer of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt, on Wednesday saddened his devotees and followers in Tiruchi.

A group of members of Hindu Samaya Mandram took out a silent procession in Srirangam to mourn his demise.

A garlanded portrait of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal was carried by the members, who took out a silent procession from the ‘Gorathamoolai’ on North Chithirai Street in the evening. They went around the four Chithrai streets.

At the Sankara Mutt in Tiruvanaikoil here, devotees offered floral tributes to the portraits of Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Maha Swamigal and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. The devotees rendered Vishnu Sahasranamam and chanted the Vedas .

Meanwhile, Thavathiru Dayanandha Chandrasekara Swamigal Thilagavathiyaar Thiruvarul Aadheenam based at Pudukottai condoled the demise of the Kanchi seer.
