Death toll in accident rises to 11

The death toll in the Friday’s road accident involving a private bus and a goods carrier near Valanadu Kaikatti in the district has increased to 11.

One of the injured P. Veeramalai (55) of Ammapatti in Dindigul district who was undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital in Tiruchi succumbed in the early hours on Tuesday, police sources said.

Ten persons were killed and 48 others injured in the fatal accident after the bus dashed from behind a goods carrier carrying a group of 70 persons on Friday morning. The victims hailed from Malaikeni village in Dindigul district. The Valanadu police have registered a case.
