Cultural programmes from September 22 on Big Temple campus

Cultural programmes in connection with the millennium celebrations of the Big Temple would begin on the temple campus on September 22 and continue till September 26. The cynosure of all eyes would be the dance by 1,000 artistes on September 25.

As per the official invitation, cultural programmes would start at 5.30 p.m. on September 22 with Thenmozhi Rajendran party's programme. It would be followed by vocal by Srikali Sivachidrambaram and Sudha Ragunathan and a dance programme by Thirunangai Narathagi Nataraj.

Simultaneously, cultural programmes would be held at those five places at 5.30 p.m. On September 23, cultural programme by Madurai Muthu and party, vocal by T. M. Krishna, dance by Jahir Hussain would take place at 5.30 p.m.

On September 24, paraiyattam by Alankanallur Arumugam party, instrumental music by ‘Haridwaramanglam' A. K. Palanivel and music programme by Aruna Sairam would be held at 5.30 p.m.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi would inaugurate a seminar at Karikal Cholan Auditorium on Tamil University campus, at 10.30 a.m. and M. K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister, would inaugurate an exhibition on palace grounds at 9.30 a.m., on September 24.

The next day, a seminar would be held at the Big Temple at 10.30 a.m. and State Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan would preside over the seminar.

In the evening, dance by 1,000 artistes would enthral the audience . On the same day, a drama on Raja Raja Cholan by T. K. S. Pugazhendhi and T. K. S.Kalaivanan party would be staged at Thilakar Thidal. Thirumurais would be sung by Kalimedu Appar Peravaiyinar on September 26 at Big Temple at 10 a.m.

Valedictory function would take place on armed police grounds in which Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi would participate.
