Winners in the State-level competition organised by the Department of Art and Culture and Jawahar Bal Bhavan were honoured at a function held here on Saturday.
In all, 256 students participated in two age-groups of whom 27 students won the prizes.
K.S. Palanisamy, District Collector, gave away the cash award to the winners.
R. Gunasekaran, Regional Deputy Director, Department of Art and Culture, said that district-level competitions were held across the State of whom 256 students were selected for the State-level contest held in Tiruchi.
The students exhibited their skill in their chosen fields of vocal, Bharatanatyam, folk dance, and painting.
An award of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5,000 was given to the first, second, and third prize winners in each event, according to S. Kumar, Assistant Director of Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
Sagayaraja, Secretary of Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, was present.
