The family and near ones of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan who died in an accident at Meghalaya recently have appealed to the State government to bring his body to his native place.
The CRPF jawan, T. Thavasi, hailing from Porur village near Musiri, was travelling along with his colleagues in a bus at Sonapur in Megalaya on June 14 when the vehicle plunged into a valley.
Thavasi, who was serving in Assam, died along with a few others in the bus. The news of his death was conveyed to his family a couple of days ago. The jawan’s wife, Vimala (25), accompanied by her relatives came to the Collectorate here on Friday.
