Course on anti-sabotage checks for police personnel

A one-day capsule course on anti-sabotage checks and VIP security was conducted for police personnel of the central zone here on Tuesday.

A range of topics were covered by instructors from the Special Branch Training School and Tamil Nadu Commando School, Chennai, during the day-long course organised for police personnel who had undergone training in bomb detection and disposal.

Topics on basic principles of VIP security, observation qualities for bomb detection and disposal personnel, do’s and don’ts to be followed during bomb threat situation, various types of Improvised Explosive Devices and concealing methods used by terrorists and extremist groups besides the sources of threat were covered during the sessions.

The functions of different equipment used during anti-sabotage missions, maintenance of equipment and the frisking methods were covered during the programme. The course was attended by inspectors, sub-inspectors and other ranks.
