September 21, 2013 03:26 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:09 pm IST - TIRUCHI:

The Tiruchi Corporation will soon issue a show cause notice to the owner of the Hotel Sri Krishna’s demanding reply that why action should not be initiated against him for putting up an unauthorised kitchen shed, a portion of which collapsed killing three construction labourers working at the adjacent site on the Old Madurai Road in the city on Thursday.

A portion of the kitchen shed, including the compound wall and generators caved in burying the workers in a trench that was being dug up at the adjacent site for raising pile foundations for a new commercial building. Three more workers were injured in the accident.

Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Thandapani said notices would be issued to the owners of the hotel and the adjacent commercial site.

The owner of the construction site, Kamlesh Patel, will also be issued a notice for failing to adhere to safety norms.
