The District Collector A..Suganthi inspected various developmental works being executed in various villages in Aranthangi panchayat union on Friday.
In Pattaraicheri and Azhiyanilai villages, the Collector inspected the work on construction of ‘Kalaignar Housing Scheme' taken up for the beneficiaries.
Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam
Under the ‘Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam' two works had been taken up. While a tank had been improved at an expenditure of Rs.4.97 lakh in Kurumbur village, a library had been constructed at a cost of Rs.4.65 lakh at Valakudyiruppu village.
Ms. Suganthi also inspected the work on the improvement to the panchayat union primary school in Valakudyiruppu village at an expenditure of Rs.1.73 lakh.
She also scrutinized the school records.
Later, at Silattur village, the Collector inspected the work on desilting of the Kollan Vayal Thatchankulam at an expenditure of Rs.4.88 lakh.
The scheme is being executed under the ‘Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme'( MGNREGS).
She advised the officials and workers to ensure quality in the work and abide by the norms.
