‘Line block’ leads to change in train operations

The Southern Railway has announced the following changes in operation of trains on August 1 owing to “line block” in connection with engineering works taken up between Valadi and Srirangam on the Villupuram -Tiruchi section:

Train No.76804 Tiruchi - Lalgudi Passenger will be fully cancelled on August 1 and Train No.76803 Lalgudi – Tiruchi Passenger will be fully cancelled on August 2.

Train No.76842 Tiruchi - Cuddalore Port Junction Passenger scheduled to leave Tiruchi at 3.25 p.m. will be rescheduled to leave at 4.50 p.m. and reach Cuddalore Port Junction at 9.30 p.m., late by 60 minutes.

Trains diverted

Train No.16128 Guruvayur - Chennai Egmore Express leaving Guruvayur on July 31 will be diverted via Tiruchi, Mayiladuturai and Villupuram and will arrive 90 minutes late at Villupuram on August 1.

Train No.16127 Chennai Egmore - Guruvayur Express leaving Chennai Egmore on August 1 will be diverted via Villupuram,Mayiladuturai and Tiruchi and will arrive 90 minutes late at Tiruchi junction.

Alternative arrangements have been made for passengers who have confirmed reservation in the two trains from or to Vriddhachalam, Pennadam, Ariyalur and Srirangam. For passengers boarding or alighting at Vriddhachalam, alternative transportation arrangements have been made between Villupuram and Vriddhachalam. Passengers boarding or alighting the trains at Pennadam can avail the transportation facility between Villupuram and Vriddhachalam to board the train at Villupuram or Vriddhachalam. For passengers boarding or alighting at Ariyalur, alternative transportation arrangements have been made between Ariyalur and Thanjavur. Passengers boarding or alighting the trains at Srirangam can do so at Tiruchi Junction, according to a press release.
