The new Inspector-General of Police, Central Zone, M. Ramasubramani, has assured to take steps to prevent road accidents in the zone.

Mr. Ramasubramani, who assumed charge here on Sunday, told reporters that maintenance of law and order and steps to check rising road accidents would be his priorities. Law and order is being well maintained in the Central zone and rowdy elements have been kept on check. Efforts would continue to ensure law and order in the zone. He also cautioned of stern action against persons indulging in ‘katta panchayats’ (kangaroo courts).

Mr. Ramasubramani was previously Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Ramanathapuram Range, and has been posted as IG, Central Zone, on promotion. He had previously served as DIG, Tiruchi range.
