‘Clean Karaikal’ drive is being launched all over the district with the students and volunteers joining the movement.

All panchayats have chalked out a distinct plan for keeping their jurisdiction clean and litter-free.

A camp was held at Kottuchery recently. N. Selvam, Commune Panchayat Commissioner, who inaugurated the camp, said that there was a growing awareness among the youth in this regard.

At the camp, students of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Engineering College extended their support. Mahalingam, Deputy Director of Local Administration, inaugurated the campaign.

According to official sources, there has been an overwhelming response to the ‘Clean Karaikal’ campaign and a sustained effort has sensitised the masses to keep the environment clean and free from pollution.
