Director of Employment and Training and Special Observer C. Samayamurthy on reviewed the progress of the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme in the district on Monday.
Speaking a meeting with District Collector K.S. Palanisamy and other officials, Mr. Samayamurthy reviewed the progress of linking the EPIC and Aadhaar cards numbers with the electoral rolls taluk-wise.
He urged the tahsildhars and booth-level officers to pay special attention to the work and ensure 100 per cent authentication. The authentication would weed out duplication, he said and appealed to voters to provide their EPIC and Aadhaar card numbers along with mobile phone numbers and e-mail addresses to the booth-level officers.
