BSNL launches 3G mobile services in Pudukottai and Karur

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched the Third Generation (3G) mobile services in Pudukottai and Karur towns on Monday.

The 3G mobile services offer powerful and useful services such as video call, mobile broadband, mobile television. In addition to the high quality voice service, 3G also ensures a face-to-face conversation by enabling a video call. Using the mobile phone, customers can also browse the internet at a speed equivalent to that of broadband.

Mobile television provides a range of television channels that can be viewed on mobile phone from any place covered by 3G services. Mobile commerce allows the customers to purchase train or air tickets, pay their bills and do shopping through internet, all from the 3G-enabled phone.

In an official release issued here on Monday, V. Raju, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Tiruchi, said that in spite of 3G service being more advanced , the tariff was far less than 2G services. He said that it has resulted in an overwhelming response from the customers.

Public in Pudukottai and Karur towns can get their 3G prepaid and post-paid connections at the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre or the authorised franchisee or retailer.

Existing 2G prepaid and post-paid customers can also shift their connections to 3G. Further details can be obtained by dialling the toll-free number 1503, the release added.
