July 08, 2013 09:25 am | Updated 09:25 am IST - TIRUCHI:

The First Additional District Court here on Saturday convicted and sentenced two brothers to undergo eight year imprisonment each for murdering their relative on November 2011.

The brothers – C. Senthil Kumar (31) and C. Vaithi alias Sekar (27) – were lodged in the Central Prison after verdict by the First Additional District Judge Poornima.

Senthil Kumar attacked his close relative M. Chinnasamy with a spade at Mullipatti village in Manikandam police station limits on November 1, 2011. When Chinnasamy’s younger brother Velayudham tried to prevent it, Vaithi attacked him with a spade on his head, said a release from the police.

Chinnasamy was killed in the attack while Velayudham sustained head injury. The release further said the attack was a fallout of previous enmity between them over share of family property.

The accused duo was arrested a day after the murder was committed and the trial took place in the First Additional District Court.
