Educational assistance

Namakkal Taluk Lorry Owners’ Association and Tata Company will provide educational assistance to the children of heavy vehicle drivers.

Students who have secured high marks in the SSLC and Plus Two examinations in 2015-16 are eligible for the assistance. Applicants along with copy of their father’s driving licence, mark statement and transfer certificate along with photographs should be sent to the association office before June 15. Top 15 students in SSLC and Plus Two results will be given assistance, a release from the association said.

Exam held

A total of 875 candidates appeared for the written examination held for the post of Block Health Statistician at eight centres here on Sunday. The exam is conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Its member K. Balusamy along with Collector V. Sampath inspected a centre in the city during the examination. A total of 2,107 candidates applied for the examination while 1,232 failed to appear. The examination was conducted in both the sessions and the process was videographed.
