Public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), an engineering firm for energy and infrastructure sector, will set up a marketing office in Kazakhistan.

The move is part of BHEL’s plans to expand business overseas. The company already has a MoU with TGR of Hungary for exploring opportunities for supply, renovation and maintenance of boilers in European and the Commonwealth countries, company sources told PTI here on Thursday.

BHEL has executed several contracts in these regions, including a contract for a 40 MW gas turbine generator set in Kazakhistan.

Currently BHEL is executing two Hydro Power Projects in Tajikistan and a contract for supply of transformers to Azerbaijan.
