BHEL inks pact with Bharathidasan University

For providing Electrical Sanitary Napkin Incinerators to schools, colleges

The Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, has entered into a supplementary agreement with Bharathidasan University for providing Electrical Sanitary Napkin Incinerators (ESNI) to schools and colleges in the region.

It was in addition to the Women Involved in Sanitation and Hygiene (WISH) programme launched in 2013.

It was aimed at providing 150 incinerators, worth of Rs.57 lakh, to various educational institutions including schools and colleges functioning under the jurisdiction of the university.

During the first phase of the programme as many as 25 incinerators were supplied to various institutions. In the second phase, it has been planned to provide 50 ESNIs worth about Rs.21lakh to schools and colleges. The supplementary agreement was signed by E.Ramganesh, Registrar-In-Charge, Barathidasan University, and K.Murali, Deputy General Manager of BHEL, in the presence of V.M. Muthukumar, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathidasan University, M. Palanivel, General Manager, Human Resources and V. Ganapathy, Co-ordinator, WISH.

A total of 150 ESNIs, worth Rs.57,18,000, would be supplied to various educational institutions under the university’s jurisdiction across eight districts.
