Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, despatched this fiscal's first consignment from the Seamless Steel Tube Plant on Thursday.
Executive Director of BHEL, Tiruchi, A.V. Krishnan, flagged off the 154-tonne consignment at a function. P. Nainar, General Manager, SSTP, handed over the despatch documents to S. Gopinath, General Manager, Boiler Shops while S. Sakthivel, Deputy Director of Boilers, Tamil Nadu, handed over the test certificates to J. Kannan, Additional General Manager, Quality, BHEL, according to a press release.
During 2009-10, the SSTP despatched a record quantity of 33,100 metric tonnes of tubes, the release said.
