BHEL despatches boiler to Punjab

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, on Thursday, despatched a boiler upper drum to the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery of HPCL Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) at Bhatinda, Punjab.

For its green-field project, the HMEL, a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Mittal Energy Investments Private Limited, Singapore, had ordered on BHEL a 153 MW Captive Power Plant to be established on Lump Sum Turn Key Project basis. The state-of-art technology for the refinery will be in place by 2011, according to a press release from the BHEL, Tiruchi. Under the contract, BHEL, Tiruchi, will supply four240TPH(TonsPerHour)utilityboiler,two110TPHHeatRecoverySteamGeneratorswithsupplementary firingandmandatory spares

and valves.

The Chief Executive Officer of HMEL, Prabh Das, flagged off the consignment in the presence of the Executive Director of BHEL, Tiruchi, A.V. Krishnan and other senior officials. Earlier in the day, Mr. Prabh Das reviewed the project and expressed satisfaction with the progress. He was accompanied by R.R. Handa, Vice President, HMEL; V.K. Anand, Consultant; and Md. Ghazunfer Siddiqui.
