BHEL brings two visually challenged couples together

Marriages were organised for two visually challenged couples at the community Centre of BHEL here on Friday.

A. V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL, solemnised marriages of the couples – D.Sadayappan and V.Thavasi from Cuddalore and Karur respectively and P.Thirupathi and R.Annalakshmi from Dindigul and Tirunelveli, respectively.

Utility items

P.Soundararajan, General Manager, Valves, BHEL, distributed 70 utility items and dress materials to the couples.

M. Palanivel, General Manager, Human Resources, BHEL, presided over the function.

About 400 school children, visually challenged persons, and other invitees graced the marriage function.

With this, a total of 68 marriages were organised for visually challenged persons by K.Selvaraj, master technician, Valves, BHEL.

In order to spread awareness of eye donation among employees and their relatives, BHEL has launched a campaign ‘Vision to All-BHEL’s Call’.

To give thrust to the campaign, Mr.Selvaraj has been nominated as co-ambassador, recognising his efforts in motivating eye donation.
