Bharatiya Mahila Bank opens branch in Tiruchi

Bharatiya Mahila Bank Limited opened its Tiruchi branch, its 56{+t}{+h}in the country, at Thillai Nagar in the city on Tuesday. Tiruchi is the fourth branch of the bank in Tamil Nadu.

Usha Ananthasubramanian, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharatiya Mahila Bank Ltd., said the bank encouraged women to make optimum use of their talents and contribute to the economic growth of the country. The bank has introduced women-centric products such as BMB Annapurna - catering service loan, BMB Parvarish - child day care centre loan and BMB Shringaar - beauty parlour loan, according to a press release issued by the bank. The bank has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other organisations of repute to encourage women and youth to start enterprises. The bank offers SME Easy Loan for small and medium enterprises and offers micro credit, loans to self-help groups and joint liability groups (JLGs).

The bank has introduced insurance products such as BMB Nirbhaya, BMB Sakhee designed for women. Komal Kali is a unique recurring deposit product to empower the girl child and helps her take up economic activity when she turns 18. To inculcate savings habit in children, the bank has launched BMB Money Box.

BMB Smartbanking, the internet banking facility of the bank, has value added features such as opening of fixed and recurring deposits online, facility to change password without visiting the branch, quick and easy transactions and clear narration. High speed SMS banking and ‘Hashtag banking’ enables customers to avail of various services such as balance enquiry and mini statements. The bank will soon introduce mobile banking services. It conducts financial literacy programmes at all the branches every Saturday. Earlier, K.Vijayalakshmi Sankar, Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion, Tiruchi, inaugurated the branch.
