Several youth duped

December 06, 2017 08:07 am | Updated 08:07 am IST - TIRUCHI

Amid recurring complaints of cheating of gullible youth by travel agencies and agents promising employment abroad, the Tiruchi City Police have asked the public to remain wary of such unauthorised agencies.

Appealing to them to lodge complaints to the jurisdictional police station in the event of coming across fake advertisements and announcements promising overseas employment, the City Police have said that information could also be given through Whatsapp number 96262-73399 of the Tiruchi City Police Commissionerate.

Licence

The police said travel agencies, which send people abroad for employment, should have necessarily obtained licence from the Protector of Emigrants, which should be renewed once in a year.

It warned of initiating stern action against those travel agencies that were operating without licence.

It appealed to job-seekers not to get carried away by fake promises that employment opportunities would be arranged after sending them abroad through tourist visa.
