Ayodhya verdict: People urged to maintain peace

Speakers at an all-party meeting convened here on Friday, appealed to the people to maintain restraint over the verdict of the Ayodhya dispute, expected to be pronounced by the Allahabad High Court soon.

Presiding over, G. S. Ramadasu, District Revenue Officer, said people of all faiths should maintain peace. He said it was the responsibility of every religion and political party to ensure mutual trust and confidence.

M.S. Muthusamy, Superintendent of Police, appealed to the representatives of different religions not to give room for any violence in the aftermath of the verdict.

Periyannan Arasu, District secretary of the DMK; V. C. Ramaiah, District Treasurer of the AIADMK; D. Pushparaj, former District Congress Committee; V. Singamuthu, District secretary of the CPI participated.
