Atul Kumar Agarwal took charge as Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi, here on Tuesday.

He succeeds Manjula Rangarajan, who has been posted as Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer (Construction), Southern Railway, Chennai. 

Prior to taking over as Divisional Railway Manager, Mr. Agarwal was Chief Mechanical Engineer (PCM) in Central Organisation for Modernisation of Workshops, New Delhi.

Belonging to the 1981 batch of Special Class Railway Apprentices of Jamalpur, Mr. Agarwal was involved with the job of operation of diesel locomotives for more than 10 years in various capacities at divisional and headquarters level besides maintaining prestigious Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains in the Delhi Division of Northern Railway.

He has been associated with running of first Shatabdi train consisting of most modern LHB coaches after getting trained in Germany and Switzerland. 

He has been Chief Works Manager of Jagadhri Carriage and Wagon Workshop of Northern Railway undertaking periodical overhaul of coaches of Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains.

Mr. Agarwal has vast experience in maintenance of sophisticated computer and numerical controlled machinery and plant having various types of control systems, a Southern Railway release here said.
