Aspiring actors shine at Lit-Quest

Lit-Quest 2015, a mega literary festival, organised by the English Department of the St. Joseph’s College here on Wednesday, provided an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in staging dramas.

Thirteen dramas were staged on Wednesday. Dramas would be staged on Thursday and prizes distributed to the best dramas.

Quest for excellence

Prabhu Solomon, film director who participated as chief guest, said that quest for excellence, perfection, and a goal was necessary in life. His quest for art made him a film director.

Film actor Sivaji Ganesan’s quest for acting was unparalleled.

He appreciated the English Department for organising such programmes as they would keep the talents of the students alive. A documentary on Prabhu Solomon, directed by R. Jayakanth, Assistant Professor of English, was screened to introduce the director.

“Shakespeare” Ratnasamy, former Head Master, Government Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, enacted a scene from Julius Caesar .

L. Anthuvan, Director and Secretary, Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts, presided over the function.

Rev. Fr. F. Andrew, principal of the college, and S. Papu Benjamin Elango, Head, Department of English; S. Manivalan, Founder Director of Centre for Christian Research, (CCR) of the college, and T. Vadivu, Associate Professor of English, spoke.
