A Sri Padhukai made of gold would be offered to the presiding deity of Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam by a devotee on Thursday. Made of 60 sovereigns of gold it was kept for public darshan in Srirangam on Wednesday.
A special ‘yagam' would be performed at the temple between 6 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. on Friday, when it would be installed at the Thiruvennazhi Suttru of the temple.
Apart from gold, 3.5 kg of silver had been gone into making the Sri Padhukai.
A large number of devotees offered worship to Sri Padhukai which was kept for public darshan on the Sringeri Sankara Mutt premises at Amma Mandapam Road on Wednesday.
It was taken in a procession around Chithrai street later in the evening.
