Tamil Nadu State Haj Committee would receive applications from the people willing to perform the Haj pilgrimage during the current year from March 1 to 31, according to the tentative schedule chalked out by the Haj Committee of India.
Final schedule
In a statement, A. Aboobucker, vice chairman of the Haj Committee of India and chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Haj Committee, said the final Haj schedule would be announced by February-end.
The draw for selecting the pilgrims for performing the Haj would be held in the last week of April and the deadline for the payment of the fare is May 31.
Haj flights would be operated from 28 centres in the country.
The first Haj flight would leave the country on September 19 and the last flight on October 20. The Arafath Day falls on October 26.
As far as the return schedule is concerned, the return flights would start arriving in India from November 1 and the last flight on December 10, 2012, Mr. Aboobucker added.
There should be a gap of five years for performing the pilgrimage again.
This is to ensure that all the interested people are selected for the pilgrimage.
This condition would apply to both the pilgrims preferring to go through the Haj Committee quota and through private travel agencies, Mr. Aboobucker added.
