Superintendent of Police Santhosh Kumar inaugurated the sale of applications for the posts created under the nomenclature of Tamil Nadu Special Police Youth Brigade here on Monday. It has been planned to recruit 110 youths in the district for the position that roughly equates to an office assistant in the police department.
The recruits would be deployed as drivers, and for conveying mails, data entry work and such other clerical assignments. Those selected would be granted a consolidated pay of Rs.7,500 a month.
The applications, each costing Rs.100, would be available at the Superintendent of Police office till September 30 and the filled-in forms would be received till October 1. The maximum age limit for open category applicants is 25, while for the OBC category it is 27, and for the SC/ST candidates 30 years.
Only male candidates are allowed and the applicants must have passed the standard X examination or its equivalent. The applicants could serve in the position till he attains the age of 40 years, according to Mr. Santhosh Kumar.
Five times the number of required candidates would be called for the physical measurement test and physical efficiency test, and from among them the 110 candidates would be chosen. The whole recruitment process might take till February next when the appointments would be made.
TIRUCHI: The exercise of recruiting young blood for the Tamil Nadu Special Police Youth Brigade (TNSPYB) 2013 – 14 to aid police personnel commenced with the sale of application forms in Tiruchi and in neighbouring Perambalur, Pudukottai and Ariyalur districts on Monday. Special counters were opened for issue of application forms to candidates at the Tiruchi Police Commissionerate as well as at the District Police Offices in Tiruchi, Perambalur, Pudukottai and Ariyalur districts.
In Tiruchi, Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav formally inaugurated the sale of application forms at the City Police Office here on Monday. The sanctioned strength of the brigade for the City Police alone is 165, a police press release here said.
