Ahead of Independence Day, personnel of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) jointly conducted anti-sabotage checks at Tiruchi junction on Tuesday.

Armed with anti-sabotage equipment, the GRP and RPF personnel checked the baggage of travellers at the station’s entrance besides checking the personal belongings of passengers on board Guruvayur expresses.

The security personnel also conducted checks on platforms and examined parcels at the junction. The special drive was conducted for nearly one-and-half hours , said a railway police officer.
